1. THIS MESSAGE SOLICITS CANDIDATES AND OUTLINES THE APPLICATION
PROCESS FOR MEMBERS INTERESTED IN RECRUITING DUTY FOR AY09.
2. RECRUITING DUTY IS A VERY CHALLENGING AND REWARDING EXPERIENCE.
RECRUITERS ARE OFTEN THE FIRST CONTACT WITH THE COAST GUARD FOR A
VAST MAJORITY OF THE PUBLIC, AND ARE A KEY ELEMENT IN PROVIDING
HUMAN RESOURCES. GIVEN THE HUGE IMPACT ON THE READINESS OF THE
SERVICE, THE SELECTION, MOTIVATION AND TRAINING OF THE RECRUITER
WORK FORCE IS A TOP PRIORITY FOR THE COAST GUARD TODAY.
3. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: ALL PERSONNEL WHO ARE TOUR COMPLETE
IN AY09 (REFLECTED IN DIRECT ACCESS), AND MEET THE MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS ON THE NEW SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS CERTIFICATION FORM
(CONSOLIDATION OF REF A) ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. THE APPLICATION,
CO ENDORSEMENT REQUIREMENTS, AND EMAILING INSTRUCTIONS CAN BE FOUND

4. PROCESS/TIMELINE: THE AY09 RECRUITING PROCESS HAS BEEN
COMPLETELY STREAMLINED IN AN EFFORT TO INCREASE THE QUALIFIED
CANDIDATE APPLICANT POOL. AY09 TIMELINE:
A. NLT 1 APR 08: RECRUITER APPLICATION PACKAGES DUE.
B. ALL APR 08: CGRC CONDUCTS PHONE INTERVIEWS.
C. 7-8 MAY 08: SELECTION PANEL CONVENES.
D. 11 MAY 08: SHOPPING LIST PUBLISHED.
E. NLT23 MAY 08: ALCGENL RELEASED ANNOUNCING SUCCESSFULLY
SCREENED PERSONNEL.
F. 13 JUN 08: E-RESUMES DUE FOR SELECTED PERSONNEL.
